Review of Lit Cosmetics.

Long time since I did anything new.
But I finally got around to buy from Lit Cosmetics

Lit Cosmetics

I just bought one colour but got 3 (2 for free) plus an extra glitter base, a brush and a very nice handwritten note.
I bought the Flower Power Shimmer S2 and got Suger & Spise Solid S2 and Foxx Solid S2.
I am a huge sucker for pink (as most of you probably know by now) but I rarely use brown.
So I contacted one of my models, she always love to help out when I need new products tested.
She has a quite dark ethnic skin tone and the golden brown Foxx looked absolutely amazing on her.

I was afraid I was gonna get glitter all over her face but these products are so easy to work with and if a little bit should fall on her cheekbones, it's easily removed with a bit of tape.

Applying the glitter is extremely easy.
You use the small brush and dip it in the liquid glitter base, and the in the glitter, apply as you wish.
I had to try it a couple of times before I figured out how much liquid I needed and how it to spread in on the lids, depending on how solid I wanted it to be. But very fun to play around with.

I used to use MAC and HOT Makeup glitters but these are like... GODS when it comes to glitter.
So of course I already ordered 5 new colours. I think I'm gonna need to buy all of them.

They are only about 12 dollars a pot and I think there's enough glitter to last a lifetime.

Thanks for reading.

Working as a makeup artist at Norwegian Fashion Week

So I promised everyone to make a blog about my trip and job in Oslo so here it is.

It started with I got a inbox message from Katrine Nicolaysen (head of PR and events at Scandic Vulkan Hotel in Oslo). Norwegian Fashion Show had a designercompetition called "Arven Etter Spook" that was gonna take place at the hotel. She had gotten a recommendation from Sølvi Strifeldt who I'm a big fan of, so I was such an amazing compliment and I was so flattered.
I was working with probably 30-40 designers, models, makeup artists, hair stylists, dancers, assistents, etc.

We first had to drive from Aalborg to Hirtshals (1½ hours) where we took the ferrie from Hirtshals to Larvik in Norway.

Took 4 hours. Then driving from Larvik to Oslo (2 hours). Took some time finding the hotels and when we finally did, we drove around to find a parking spot. Next morning turned out that it was a handicap space so we got a ticket. Hadn't noticed. :P

We went back to the hotel to get leave the luggage. We met up with Katrine at the bar and talked about the show and went through the outfits and moodboards.

I got a lovely goodie bag with some information, drinks and bracelets that I totally love!
(MOTEUKA is norwegian for fashion week)

Our hotel room was really nice. Katrine told me later on that the hotel had won some european award but I can't remember what it was for. But the best something in Europe. And you could tell. Not sure I've ever slept that good. See more pics and info here:

Scandic Vulkan

I totally loved this door across from ours. Some of the doors had some nice wall decor on them.

We went out to get something to eat. We wanted to find a restaurants or café but after walking for like an hour we finally found a pizza place. Well, why not. And I'm glad we gave up looking and went in there cause that was the best pizza I have EVER tasted. It was heaven.

While eating, alot of goths and punks went passed the pizza place and all went around the corner. So we decided there was probably a bar or club and we followed them to find it.. But got lost and found nothing. :( So with a little help from the navigation on our cells we got back to the hotel in one piece.
We went to sleep.

Next morning, we went down to the breakfast buffet. I ate so much because I didn't know when I was gonna get something else to eat and 'cause it was so good. And right as I thought, that was the last thing I got to eat that day.
After breakfast I got ready, cleaned some of the brushes I had used and packed up my things. We went out to get a cig outside the bar right before heading backstage.

It was so wild. So many people, so much energy, so much excitement.
We were sponsored by Oriflame which was my first working with this brand. They were really lovely but I used some of my own aswell as there were no primers and such.
The hair stylist was from Hair Lounge in Oslo and they were really talented. Some of those creative hair do's really took my breath away. Not to mention the makeup artists. They were so talented and inspiring. After the show, I got talking to some of them and they were so nice.
2 hours before they were gonna go on the catwalk, I was done with my job. Think I worked for 7 hours. Each makeup artist got a designer. Each designer had 2 models.

Luck would have it, one of my models were originally from Denmark. So someone could help translate every time we got a brieffing in norwegian.
While we waited for the rest to get ready we hung out backstage, talking and laughing.

Then 5 minutes to showtime, everyone was rushing, I needed to make sure that the girls' makeup was still flawless after eating and drinking. They got in line and we went down to see the show.
This was just the outside by the bar:

Unfortunatly I don't have any proper pics from the show yet and promised to blog as everyone has been asking to hear how it went. There was a lovely dance show which I don't have pictures of either while the jury voted for the winner.
After the show, we got a couple of beers and talked to the other makeup artists at the afterparty but went back up to the room quite early as we had to get up at 4 in the morning to drive to the ferrie again.
The trip home was horrific. Just too long, was too tired, too many annoying people. I just wanted the event to never end and hopefully it wont be the last time working on a runway show or with those lovely people.

Thank you for reading guys. <3

Photoshoots and concerts

I've been so busy lately. Not only have a had a lot of photoshoots lately (which I will get back to) but my man finally came home from Roskilde Festival and we've been spending alot of time together. But now, he's back to work and I got a bit more time for myself.
Last night we got into an arguement. Which was horrible. Luckily none of us are hot-headed and we are always able to talk calmly and mature about everything. But last night he was tired and I was upset because of some family issues. But as always, we talked it out, I feel closer to him now. But I also feel how different we are and not because of the age difference but more the lives we have lived and especially the way we have dealt with our problems in the past. And I think we'll have some rough times to overcome in the future. But I don't care. And neither does he. Cause we are so unbelievably happy together. <3

Well, I won't get all soft on you guys so let's talk about something else.
While TG was at the Roskile Festival, me and my best mate Mads went to Nibe Festival to see MIKA.
I am a HUGE MIKA fan. I've seen him once before about 2 - 3 years ago and it was the most amazing experience ever.
This time, we got so close to him, waited for 2 hours so we were sure to get a great spot.

When he went on, I think my heart stopped beating for 20 minutes. Everything stood still and I was afraid I was gonna pass out. Impressive music can have such an effect on someone.
While he was singing, he noticed me and pointed down to me while smiling and singing! I almost cried. We tried get some CDs signed but he wouldn't come out. He's coming back in the autumn and I can't wait. Hope to get to meet him then. The new album will be out September 16th.

My new MIKA shirt. Which I LOVE and wearing right now.

And the photoshoots.
I've been so booked lately, and even though it's hard at times, I absolutely love it!!! There's not much to tell about it, but I want to show off some of the pics I've done lately.

Now, I'll get ready for TG to pick me up. We're gonna watch Drive and I'll cook (or try). I love my man.

Thank you for reading.

Summer Makeup

My first tutorial.
There's already alot I'm gonna do different next time, doing a tutorial. Like take pictures throughout the process. I also wanna do a video sometime but the camera makes me nervous and I start stuttering. But here it is.

I wanted to do a fresh simple everyday summer makeup.

I started with a clean face and applied a moisturizer and a foundation when the lotion was absorbed. I used Dream Satin Liquid - Ivory.
Then applied Lime Crime Candy Eyed Eyeshadow Helper. A fantastic eyelid primer.
When it comes to eyeshadow, there's a lot of different ways to do it and this is the way I do it, as it works the best for me.
I used these products for the eyeshadow.

Suparpill Lumi
Sugarpill Decora
2 different Collection 2000 Dazzle Me!
Coastal Scents 88 Eyeshadow Palette.

Dazzle Me! was some product I found on sale. I think they were 2 dollars for 3 eyeshadows. So I bought every color they had and alot of the colors are really gorgeous. Very shimmering and sparkling.

I started with appling just a little bit of Decora (the darkest colour) in the crease, just to mark where I would put it. Then I applied Lumi in the inner corner of the eyes and a bit on the lid, following with the golden peachy color, and then the golden pink and Decora, blending them nicely and giving the crease a bit more eyeshadow. Over the crease, I apply just a slight golden peach and pink to blend it out perfectly.
Then I draw my eyebrows on with GOSH Extreme Art Eye Liner and applied an eyeshadow from the Coastal Scents palette a skin tone lighter than my own just under the eyebrows to lift it up.

And for the final touch, thin, simple black eyeliner from Cosmetica Fanatica (discount makeup brand but their eyeliner is quite nice!) and false eyelashes that I cut shorter to give a more simple look.

I rarely wear anything on my lips but if you do, I would recommend peachy or nude lips. Sometimes less is more.

Hope you like it, more to come.

First review: Sugarpill

This is my first review so please bare with me. :)

I already bought the Hysteric Loose Eyeshadow long time ago and I loved it. It's a gorgeous purple color with a metallic look and a pearlized shimmer. I love how the glitter plays in the light.

Then finally I saved up some money to make a new order.
And as always, Sugarpill package was absolute stunning. The package had their kitty logo on it and contained not only the items I ordered but also a card/picture, a big lovely glitter sticker and a sample of their Magpie Loose Eyeshadow.

The eyeshadows I ordered were:

Royal Sugar
Lumi
Starling
Birthday Girl
Paperdoll
Decora

They are all very lovely colors but I would say that Royal Sugar and Lumi are very must-haves in any makeup collection. Along with the Hysteric.

The Royal Sugar is the most intense blue I've ever seen. It's a deep vibrant colour with shimmering glitter. I'm gonna wear this so much!
The Lumi seems a bit plain white at first but when you look closer, you see the pearlized pigment. It has an amazing effect when you apply it. It plays in this light amazingly and almost seems to have a metallic green color with maybe a little of a magenta tone to it.
The Starling is a much darker color than it seems from the website pictures. Also a more dark green turquoise than what I had expected. But I so very much like it. It is also very glittery and metallic but seems more rough and aggresive than the other colours I have bought so far. I think this is a color I will often use for makeup jobs.
The Birthday Girl. First when I looked at it, before I opened it up, I thought it looked very plain and boring. It has this very soft cotten candy pink look. But when I opened it up, it was like a explosion of light from the reflection from the glitter. Absolutely amazing color that I am very excited to experiment with.
The Paperdoll has the same kind of plain ash-ish purple at first, as with the Birthday Girl, but when you open it up, it's a color explosion. I think these 2 colors will compliment eachother beautifully and I can't wait to do a really cute My Little Pony look with these colors.
The Decora is a more redish pink. I saw a review from someone saying the same thing about the  eyeshadow and I thought "Oh no!" cause I am not a big fan of redish pinks. So I has very happy to see that this was not the case. When saying "more redish pink" I don't mean this looks red in any way. I don't think it looks hot pink. More of a darker peach pink. But I fell in love with it immediately. It is so fresh and yummy to look at. It is absolutely perfect for a summer look.

I haven't given Magpie sample I got a proper look yet.

I highy recommend all these products, I know, I'm gonna need the whole collection. :)
And it is always such a pleasure receving the package.

All Sugarpill products are vegan and cruelty-free.

Missing my man

So TG is at Roskilde Festival atm. He's away for 8 days and it sucks. I miss him so much.
It's ridiculous how much it affects me but we've been spending everyday together for 4 months. Guess it's healthy though. I mean to miss eachother now and then. Even though it hurts a bit.
But he'll be back on Sunday and I know I will be so psyched to see him again.

I've been really busy lately. And I have a horribly sore throat which really does not help with everything.

But finally, it seems like I pretty much got almost everything sorted out now. And tomorrow I'll make my first makeup review + how to.

I will also if I find the time, blog about the MIKA concert.
So stay tuned, there will be plenty of nice pictures.

Meanwhile.... check out my shop, I have listed a bunch of brand new jewelry lately.

Like this gorgeous pink flower ring:
